Panel Discussion in Tetovo regarding the Operational Employment Plan

With the support of the Strengthening Social Dialogue Project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Labour Organization, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy is organizing four regional panel-discussions of the Local Economic and Social Councils.

The first regional panel was held on 3 October 2019 in the Municipality of Tetovo during which the future Operational Plan for Active Employment Measures was discussed, the focus being the regional and local problems, challenges and needs. The aim is to consult and involve the local economic and social councils, and through them the institutions, the organizations and the business community on local level, in the creation of national policies, strategies and plans.

The Minister for labor and social policy, Mila Carovska, the director of the Employment Service Agency, Biljana Jovanovska, the Mayor of Tetovo, Teuta Arifi, representatives from the municipal administration, the chambers of commerce and the business sector started broad consultations on the new operational plan for employment. The Local Economic and Social Councils and other stakeholders are expected to give concrete proposals, which directs the consultation process towards the local actors.
